Creating Titles

As part of our unit ‘Creating Titles’ for Certificate IV in Screen & Media, we were required to create the introductory title screens in relation to the provided briefs.

Bacon Sense

Background: This is a slapstick comedy made by Tafe Pictures starring Jill Johnson. This is a TV series based in modern New York. It follows Jill Johnson playing themself as they deal with the not-so-hard issues that an up-and-coming comedian faces. The co-stars are Tony Gel and James Harry.

Goal: The goal of the project is to create a 15 second title sequence for Bacon Sense. This is designed for a 22 to 45-year-old audience who enjoys situational comedy.

Message: We want an upbeat loud title sequence that is hard hitting and fun.

Parallel Lines

Background: This is a Drama TV series released by Stime productions. It is titled Parallel lines and stars Rodger Frederick and Anna Korna as two strangers. They pass each other by in day-to-day life. The series focuses on chance meetings and obstacles in everyday life. The underlying tone of the show is “What If”. 

Goals: The goal of this project is to create a digital title sequence that runs for 15 seconds. Designed for people 35 to 55 years old that enjoy love and drama series. 

Message: We want to convey the realities of everyday life and that nothing you plan goes according to the plan. 

Sun Walking

Background: This is a sci-fi movie about a spaceship that explores far-away galaxies looking for other life forms and creating peace. Lead actor Joanne Tilbury is the ship’s captain and Joanne is supported by Prakash Singh and Leonie Lam. 

Goals: The goal of a project is to create a 15 to 25 second title sequence for Sun Walking. Designed for audience who enjoy sci-fi films based around space exploration. 

Message: Intergalactic travel – we want to represent the unknown and the distant future, the excitement and awe of meeting new people and lifeforms.
