Life’s Journey
The documentary explores Sandra’s ife journey from Year 12 to the point that she is in now. The documentary will be an energising and encouraging video for kids that are getting closer to the end of school, helping them to realise that you don’t have to plan out your life as soon as you finish Year 12. This topic is quite important to me as many of my peers feel pressured to finalise their future. The video and e-magazine highlight the importance of not worrying about external messages of getting your life together at 18 but rather focusing on what you enjoy and what you want to achieve in your life. I took inspiration from the word Sonder: the realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. This is from the ‘Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows’ by John Koenig. I also believe that it is important to recognize how so many people who have finished school have taken a different path from what they had originally intended. Through the perspective of people who have learnt much more in their lifetime, the documentary delves deep into the journey of life and what makes a person’s dreams for the future come true.
